Local content and search
The desktop creates a local workspace database for projects, memories, full-text search, revisions, task status, checkpoints, file links, and optional semantic vectors. Project records are not uploaded to the account service, and workspaces do not sync between devices.
Separate account information
The online service needs account email and password hash, session and verification state, subscription and payment records, device authorizations, and Team membership data. The desktop refreshes a short-lived authorization lease with that service.
Optional local embeddings
Semantic search is optional. It uses an Ollama embedding model you install and configure yourself and accepts only a loopback endpoint. No model is bundled or downloaded. If Ollama is unavailable, full-text search remains available.
