Compare how different workflows keep AI context

Tools differ in where they store conversations, how they search prior work, and what they share with an AI provider. Compare those behaviors against your own privacy and workflow requirements.

Provider memory and project memory

An AI provider may retain conversation history within its own account. AgentMemory instead stores selected project records locally and lets you search or copy a context brief between tools. It does not import by signing into those services.

Local files and hosted services

Local storage keeps content on a computer but makes backup and device security your responsibility. Hosted storage can make sync easier while creating a separate service data boundary. Check each product’s export, retention, access, and deletion controls.

What AgentMemory currently does

AgentMemory supports local projects, FTS5 search, context assembly, revisions, checkpoints, encrypted backups, Chrome capture, and local read-only MCP. It does not provide cloud sync or a public memory API.
