Check the file structure
The importer accepts conversation arrays or individual records with a messages or chat_messages array containing text. For ChatGPT-style mapping exports, it follows the active branch when available. Attachments and non-text content are not imported.
Select a project and import
Use Import in the desktop app and choose the JSON file. The maximum file size is 50 MB, each conversation record is limited to 5 MB, and exports above 10,000 conversations need to be split.
Review imported content
Unsupported messages are skipped and duplicate title/body pairs in the same project are not imported again. If the file has no supported text messages, import reports that it could not find supported content.
