Get started with projects and local context

Use this sequence to organize project material, find it later, and share a focused context brief when you choose.

1. Sign in and authorize the computer

Create an account and verify its email address. Choose an Individual subscription or join a paid Team. Sign in from the desktop app to authorize this computer; one person can authorize one device at a time.

2. Create a project

Create a project for a coherent area of work. Add a memory, decision, or task with a clear title and source. Keep separate projects for work that should not appear in the same searches.

3. Import conversations or files

Select a supported JSON conversation export or text-based file from the desktop import action. Imports are stored in the selected project. Files and individual records have size limits; see the import guides before bringing in large exports.

4. Search and prepare a handoff

Search the project using words from the topic, decision, or file. Build a context package, review its sources and content, and copy it only when you are ready to share it with another tool.

5. Make a recovery copy

Create a password-encrypted workspace backup and keep its file and password somewhere safe. Restore is a full-workspace operation and creates a recovery copy before replacing local data.
